Since its that time of year again.
« on: December 06, 2006, 10:40:17 am »
Since December's coming around, its time to start planning our holiday wish lists. To all of you, I ask what major games are top priority for you this season? Since my highest priority is to get the Nintendo Wii, my priorities in terms of games are rather short at the moment.
-Final Fantasy XII. One of the few games that ever lives up to all of the hype. I was quite impressed with the demo that came with DQ8, so I've been waiting for this game for a long time.
-Gears of War (360): Not much to say about it that hasn't already been said before.
-Sonic Rivals: The only truly good Sonic racing game. Its about time they got it right (I didn't like Sonic R or Riders, though I'll have to complete a bunch of stuff in R so I can mock the legendary Tails Doll curse).
-Castlevania Portrait of Ruin: On the lower end of my priority list, but its supposed to be fun.
Warning, shameless plug in ahead. There is one game I strongly recommend playing if you have a PS2. For those of you who like RPGs or know someone who does, you can't go wrong with Disgaea 2. Wonderfully deep, additctive gameplay plus a twisted yet hilarious story (everything from perverted, cowardly talking frogs with French accents, penguins that explode when tossed, sarcasatic item descriptions, "dark heroes" whose idea of villany is doing ding-dong ditches and crank phone calls, to egotistical demon lords that get more angry about being called flat than with people opposing her plans) makes for an experience you shouldn't miss doods. It came out last summer so it should still be really easy to find as well. Plus, the voice acting is decent.
Ever know what its like to get pwned by a book? Sonic certainly does.

1) A working 360. ¬_¬

That aside...uh...a HD TV would be nice but I wont be getting one.
Did you not think I had a mind?

Part of the money to get a PS3, and Sonic for it.

I'm not really in need of anything else. Although a DVD writer would be nice...

Well sadly I know we're on a budget and I don't have a system any of the new decent games are on. (Note that I'm calling Sonic06 "decent.") And there's no way in hell I'm going to torture myself with S1GBA. (I'm not even psychotic enough to finish Marble on the ROM it's so bad. Why do I still have that anyways?)

I'd also like a PS3 *MAULED* but that's probably overbudget, even in holiday terms.

I'm looking at getting Madden and NCAA football '07 for GC (I like playing 'em, okay? And I don't have them on GC yet.) I'd go for the Wii too but mom's really big on this "budget" thing. I'm also looking at NSMB and maybe another DS game that I'm not sure of yet. Oh, and that USB Wifi adapter for the pwn.

Otherwise it's just general shit and gift cards. I like gift cards. (Especially when you're indecisive like I am and would rather get stuff on the spot.)

I'd add FFXII, but my bro got the Collectors' Edition at launch (it was all they had left) and is hoarding it away at school and he won't let it stay home until he beats it. I want to say he probably had 40-some hours when he came home for Thanksgiving, when I got an AMAZING TWO WHOLE HOURS of gameplay in before work and homework dragged me away from the sexy.
<Tails> also "GET BLUE SPHERES" on a black-and-white TV remains the best special stage of all time

<Achlys> wat ave you done!
<Spinballwizard> apparently killed your h key

Things I want but have no chance of getting:
A 360 with copy of Sonic 360, metal dance pads (for DDR), and a higher grade computer (this one's starting to get outdated...)

Things I may have a chance of getting:
Some DDR games I don't own, FFVII: Dirge of Cerberus, Final Fantasy V for GBA, PSP FM Modulator, Nintendo Monopoly, new videogame shirts, and uhh...pocket change?

Things I want from the hacking community:
Higher grade PS1, SNES, and N64 emulators for the PSP
Never forget who you are.

some DVD's I might want and some other stuff (mostly clothes)

Burnout: Revenge
Okami
Megaman X8 (no I still dont have it sonicam even though I said I would by now)

game wise, nothing is really getting me in the mood.  Also I dont want a Wii till more VC games come out and near when Galaxy, Secret Rings, and Metal Slug is here as well.  Monkey Ball has disappointed me, but if Wiiconnect24 does anything about it, then I may want it again.  Other than that maybe Twilight Princess as well.
my name has nothing to do with Shadow The Hedgehog

Completed Runs:
Sonic Heroes: Team Sonic: SS
Rocket Knight Adventures: Easy (US): SS

In the Future:
Aero The Acrobat (Genesis) | More...

Monkey Ball has disappointed me...

I hope the same thing doesn't happen to me. I'm assuming you rented it, then, hm?

I'm sure, though, it'll be my favorite Wii game. I'll probably like it more than Rrayman but things could change I guess...

BTW, I love the Space Case theme. Some of the music from the other stages can be annoying (I don't have the game; just the MP3's) I'm sure like Pirates Ocean.

edit: SJ, I also think it's probably better to wait - if I was to wait (which I'm NOT :P), I'd wait till March.

On that note, anyone else but me wanna get SSX Blur for the Wii, now? I loved SSX On Tour for my Xbox and I can't wait for Blur on the Wii - it's gonna be sick!

My sister's getting me some random CDs from my Amazon wishlist.

Dunno what my dad's getting me. He offered a video camera but I doubt I'd actually use one as we can rent them from uni, however I have yet to think of anything better.

My mum's getting me Guitar Hero II. X)

Non gaming presents aside, this is my current list:

Wii
Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess
Elebits
Extra Nunchuck (not going to happen...supply and demand)

...and that's it.

Also I feel like such a good person because I spent ~$200 on gifts for other people (mostly my immediate family) so far. Out of my own pocket. I even labeled them!

As in, what the gifts are and not who they're for. I can't be arsed to do that.

Oh, and I'm giving someone I don't like hemorrhoid cream.

I HOPE YOU DO
